How do I acquire and install a license?

After the evaluation period, you must license BenchLink Data Logger Pro as described below.

1. Click Tools > Licensing > License Status... to see a listing of this PC's license status. The license status for each version of BenchLink Data Logger Pro is reported (version 34830A is for the 34970A and 34972A. Version 34832A is for the 34980A). The license status for these products will be one of the following:
·Licensed - The PC is already licensed. You can skip the licensing procedure and begin using the BenchLink Data Logger Pro software. Refer to “Getting Started” for step-bystep instructions in the Help menu.
·Not Licensed, N Day(s) Evaluation Remaining - The instrument is not licensed but still has one or more evaluation days left. To begin the licensing process now, go to step 2 below. Otherwise, click Close to continue using the software in evaluation mode.
·Not Licensed, Evaluation License Expired - You need to license the software. Go on to step 2 below.

2. From the Tools > Licensing > Install Licenses dialog box, choose the tabs to enter the new license key or to convert a v1.00.01 license. If you have any problems, contact Keysight support at https://www.agilent.com/find/assist

3. You can now access the Keysight licensing Web site by clicking the link below. Be sure you have this information available before accessing the Web site:

·Data Logger Pro version required:
-Version 34830A is the Data Logger Pro for the 34970A and 34972A
-Version 34832A is the Data Logger Pro for the 34980A
·Instrument model number (34980A or 34970A and/or 34972A) and Host ID (preferably copied to the clipboard as shown in step 2 above)
·Your email address

4. Follow the instructions on the Web site. A license file and entitlement certificate will be emailed to you for each version of Data Logger Pro ordered. Save these files to the My Documents folder on your Desktop.

5. Click Tools > Licensing > Install Licenses... and click the Install License(s) button to install the license(s).
