IO Libraries Suite: Why does my LAN instrument not show up in the LAN discovery tool?

IO Libraries Revisions: Suite 15.0 and later

There are 2 possible reasons:

Reason 1: Your instruments may be configured incorrectly, or on a different subnet. The easiest way to ensure that your instruments are configured correctly is to enable DHCP. Enabling this feature will tell the instruments to get correct configuration information from your Local Area Network’s DHCP server. If DHCP is not available, you may need to set your IP addresses manually. For detailed instructions on this topic, you should check your instruments’ User Guide and read the TCP/IP Network Basics chapter in the Keysight Configuration Guide, which is included with the Keysight IO Libraries Suite.

Reason 2: Instruments that are connected to an E5810A LAN/GPIB gateway will not show up in the Auto Find portion of the LAN discovery tool. Instead, you should select Add Other from the toolbar. The Add Other tool will allow you to search for remote GPIB interfaces.
