FAQ 2014-02-28

Where can I find information or example programs using the API for Signal Studio?
The Signal Studio for pulse building help file has information and example programs under the API control chapter.

FAQ 2013-05-16

How much time/frequency error is introduced by the Custom Profile or Custom I/Q resampling?
After using the formula to calculate the number of resampled data points, work backwards to determine the error.

FAQ 2012-12-28

Why can’t I view a help file downloaded from the Keysight website?
After downloading the file to your PC, open it from the location it was saved and a security warning appears. To view the help system, clear the checkmark from the "Always ask before opening this file" check box.

FAQ 2012-12-28

What is the best configuration for wideband I/Q modulation?
An E8267D Option 016 or an N8212A Option 016 signal generator with an M8190A arbitrary waveform generator

FAQ 2012-12-28

How many measurements do I need to make and how long is the predistortion data good?
The number of measurements needed depends on the number of parameters that are changed. The calibration (measurement data) could be valid for two days or longer.

FAQ 2012-12-28

Do corrections work with frequency and amplitude offsets?
Yes, however, the amplitude flatness accuracy is set by the spectrum analyzer flatness accuracy across the signal bandwidth...

FAQ 2012-12-28

What happens to nested patterns and off-time packets in pulse mode?
Nested patterns are flattened. This means that a single trigger will not play the entire pattern. It merely steps into the pattern and plays the first pulse. The next trigger plays the next pulse, etc. Off-time packets are ignored in pulse mode.

FAQ 2012-12-28

How do I measure Bit Error Rate (BER) to a given confidence level on N490xA/B Serial BERTs?

FAQ 2012-12-12

Why is the FSK modulation index of the ESG limited to about 4 or less on the E4438C and 1 or less on the E443XB?
The interpolation in the DSP algorithms for the baseband generator limits the modulation index.

FAQ 2012-06-07

In ACLR eNB limit, LTE 3MHz bandwidth adjacent channel carrier filter BW is the same as channel BW. Is this true?
No. The bandwidth of filter should be transmission bandwidth configuration BWconfig, not channel BW.

FAQ 2011-07-25

Can I control a Keysight 4284A/E4980A using my B1500A to make CV measurements and display the results in the EasyEXPERT data display window?
Yes.

FAQ 2011-02-15

Does the Keysight solution support the 4x4 MIMO tests for LTE TDD?
Yes, the N7625B can make downlink MIMO configurations (up to 4x4) with static fading including spatial multiplexing with CDD (cyclic delay diversity) and transmit diversity. The 89601A-BHE can support the 4x4 MIMO analysis using Keysight Oscillosco...

FAQ 2009-11-13

Does the ESG or MXG with N7625B Signal Studio support the UE receiver tests?
Yes, the E4438C (ESG) or N5182A (MXG) with the N7625B LTE TDD signal studio can generate both LTE TDD downlink and uplink signals. So it can be used for receiver components (such as power amplifiers and transmitter, receiver, or transceiver RFICs)...

FAQ 2009-11-13

What kind of Baseband filter for P-SS?
The LTE standard does not specify what transmitter filter to use. For the transmitter in ADS, we use ideal low pass filter or RRC filter; for signal studio, we use ideal low pass filter to filter baseband signal, no specific filtering on P-SS. In ...

FAQ 2009-11-13

Does the N7625B support multi-user PRACH generation?
Yes. Keysight’s products support both multi-user PRACH generation. In the N7625B, besides “Basic LTE TDD” and “Advanced LTE TDD carriers”, there is another carrier type named “PRACH LTE TDD”. You can setup either single user PRACH or multi-user PR...

FAQ 2009-11-13

Why are you offering 3 instruments in 1? What if my customer needs only one of these instruments?
In addition to precise pulses and trigger customers need to stress the device to its limits. In the past they used either a second channel or an additional instrument to distort the signal. With the new build-in capabilities real-world signals can...
