Latest Enhancements for N7609B Signal Studio for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS)
The Feb 2014 release of N7609B Signal studio for GNSS adds the following enhancements:
- Real-time multi-satellite simulation of the Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) and the Japanese regional QZSS navigation satellite system
- CW interference signals inside the GNSS band
- Real-time scenario information display, including satellite sky view, power view and trajectory view
- Basic Option EFP now supports both single satellite and multi-satellite waveform creation, providing a cost-effective solution based on for Keysight vector signal generators including X-Series signal generators and M9381A PXIe VSGs or one box testers like the E6607 EXT, E6630A or E6640A EXM wireless test set
SBAS and QZSS Simulation
A satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) is a system that supports wide-area or regional augmentation through the use of additional satellite-broadcast messages to transmit ionosphere, clock, and ephemeris correction and integrity data for GNSS systems, which provides increased positioning accuracy. The Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) is a proposed three-satellite regional time transfer system and regional navigation satellite systems that would be receivable within Japan to provide improved GNSS signal availability/coverage and positioning accuracy.
Option XFP for the N7609B software enables real-time simulation of the SBAS system including WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GAGAN and QZSS, as well as scenario generation capability for creating and editing custom scenarios to simulate stationary or moving receivers. Option XFP is available for use with the N5172B EXG or N5182B MXG X-Series signal generators.
Real-time CW Interference
Option XFP for the N7609B software enables the addition of CW interference signals to real-time GNSS signals inside the GPS, GLONASS or Beidou bands. Users can add up to 4 CW interference signals, which share all of the 16 Galileo channels.
Basic Single and Multi-satellite Waveform Enhancements
Previously, Option EFP for the N7609B software only supported single waveform creation. With this enhancement, it can also generate multi-satellite waveform files for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, SBAS, QZSS, GPS+SBAS+QZSS, GPS+Beidou or GPS+Galileo. GNSS waveform file simulation can be useful for testing satellite acquisition and tracking sensitivity on components or receivers. Multi-satellite waveform files can be useful for testing Time To First Time (TTFF) and static location accuracy on receivers. For location based testing, ARB memory of at least 256 MSa is required. Waveform 5-pack or 50-pack licenses can also be used with these waveform files.
Real-time Scenario Information Display
N7609B software now provides several intuitive scenario information displays for viewing the scenario playing status from a receiver's point of view. Real-time sky view displays the location of all visible satellites in the sky. Real-time power view display the instant power of all visible satellites in a bar view. Real-time trajectory view displays the history trajectory of the playing scenario.
