SystemVue ESL Design SoftwareThe W1715 MIMO Channel Builder provides multi-channel fading simulation blocks that incorporate realistic antenna patterns for LTE system architects, receiver algorithm developers, and baseband hardware designers. It consists of a geometry-based WINNER-II MIMO channel model and a correlation-based MIMO channel model, thus adding standards-compliant 4G fading profiles to the Keysight SystemVue platform. It interoperates well with the W1910 LTE and W1918 LTE-Advanced Baseband Verification Libraries, as well as other Keysight measurement products, such as the 89601 VSA, N5106A PXB source, and other products. The W1715 MIMO Channel Builder also provides an economical, predictive alternative to real-time hardware faders for up to 8x8 MIMO links.

Enabling Predictive “drive-test realism” in the Algorithm Phase

The W1715 MIMO Channel Builder starts with published geometry-based WINNER-II/WINNER+ and Correlation-based MIMO fading algorithms, extending each underlying SISO model with correlation-based fading after each tap. The MIMO Channel Builder then incorporates 2D far-field EM data into the propagation characteristics of the simulated MIMO radiators. The simulated fading blocks degrade MIMO signals with near-field crosstalk that is precise, realistic, and predictive. When combined with other SystemVue advantages, such as fast envelope-level RF effects and HARQ throughput measurements, the result is unprecedented link-level fidelity for LTE architects that yields predictive insights much earlier in the design process for superior partitioning and algorithmic development. SystemVue brings drive-test realism into the architecture phase of the design, before hardware has been implemented.
