cPCI Multichannel Digitizer Systems

In laboratories around the world, Keysight CompactPCI® cPCI instrumentation has become an integral part of advanced experimental systems, whether for system control or experiment observation.

cPCI digitizers and TDCs provide channel density that is designed for use in multichannel systems. By integrating multiple units into one desktop or rackmount chassis it is possible to create a complete data acquisition system with up to 80 synchronized digitizer acquisition channels or 240 TDC channels in one chassis.

cPCI digitizers

The Keysight Acqiris cPCI high-speed digitizers cover the following range of specifications and capabilities:

  • 200 MS/s to 8 GS/s on one or more channels
  • Vertical resolution of 8, 10, 12-bits
  • Bandwidths of up to 1 GHz
  • Flexible acquisition memory
  • Fast data throughput
  • On-board real-time signal processing using FPGA

cPCI time-to-digital converters

Keysight offers TDC products that are ideal for applications where high timing resolution (to 5 picosecond) and precision are required. Versions include single-shot event recording, and multi-hit TDCs for streaming of timing data rates of up to 1 Megaevent/sec.

Control Software

Multichannel systems containing Keysight Acqiris digitizers or TDCs can be easily controlled using the turnkey multichannel acquisition software AcqirisMAQS. This powerful PC oscilloscope software was designed and developed specifically for control and monitoring of advanced data acquisition systems with many channels, and is ideal for single-shot/event applications in hydrodynamics, particle and nuclear physics. It allows remote Ethernet operation of multiple systems at various networked locations.

Typical applications for CompactPCI digitizers and TDCs include: medical instrumentation, plasma physics, nuclear physics, particle accelerator beam steering, radio astronomy, gamma telescopes, neutrino detection hydrodynamics, detonation science, and environmental monitoring.
